Navigation/Search Bar

Navigation Bar

Go Back

The Go Back button functions like the back button in a web browser. Clicking this button returns the Container View to the previous selection (within the current session—the time between when the application was last launched and the current time). Each successive click steps back one position in the stack until the beginning of the stack is reached. The Go Back button is disabled until at least two containers in the Container View have been selected.

Go Forward

The Go Forward button operates in the opposite direction of the Go Back button, instead stepping forward through the stack of previously selected containers. Each successive click steps forward to the next container in the stack until the end of the stack is reached. This button appears disabled until the Go Back button has been clicked at least once.

Go Up

When a container that is a child to another container is selected, the Go Up button becomes enabled. Clicking this button causes the parent of the selected container to become selected instead of the child, until the selected container has no parent of its own.

Search Bar

Search Field

The Search Field allows a user to define the term(s) to be used during a search for assets. Click the field to set the position of the text-cursor. Click and drag within the filed to highlight any text that may be present, or right-click the field to access a context menu that provides additional common text field options—i.e., Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, and Select All. Once a term has been entered into the field, pressing the [Enter] key or clicking the Search button will begin the search.

Search History

Clicking the Search History button causes a menu to be displayed below the Search Field. This menu contains the previously searched terms but only those within the current session. Clicking a term in the menu replaces the contents of the Search Field with the selected term.

Search Type

Clicking the Search Type button allows the user to modify which type of information is used to perform the search. There are two options to choose from:

  • File - When selected, this option causes the search routine to limit itself to only using the names of files. For instance, if the term “red” is entered into the Search Field, and the Search button is clicked, only those files that have “red” somewhere in their names will be displayed within the Results View.
  • Database - When selected, this option causes the search routine to use the name of a file as well as any keywords that have been defined for a given asset—be they defined by the vendor and included with the product or defined by the user on the Tags Page page of the Information Panel.

Clicking the Search button causes the search to begin, by using the Search Term, the Search Type, and the Search Options chosen. If a substantial amount of content is installed, clicking this button will also cause the Search Field, the Search History button, the Search Type button, and itself to be temporarily replaced by a Search Progress indicator and a Stop Search button.

Options Divider Bar

Divider Bar

Divider Bar

When the Options Panel is in the open/expanded state, the Divider Bar is used to re-size it. However, this handle does nothing when the Options Panel is in the closed/collapsed state.

Divider Bar Toggle

When the Options Panel is closed/collapsed, clicking the Divider Bar Toggle causes the panel to expand to the size it was last or to the default size (if the panel has not been re-sized). When the Options Panel is open/expanded, clicking the Divider Bar Toggle causes the panel to close/collapse.

Options Panel

Options Panel The Options Panel provides several options for controlling the types of files considered in the search. The options are grouped according to their respective content types. To access and expand the Options Panel, click the Divider Bar Toggle directly below the Search Bar. Below is a list of the available options, along with the file extension(s) they represent:
