Node Highlighting

Node Highlighting The Node Highlighting property group contains properties for altering how a node is highlighted in the Viewport.

Highlight Style

The Highlight Style property provides the ability to choose between displaying just a node's bounding_box or highlighting the surface in a viewport as well as displaying a node's bounding box.

Bounding Box and Surface

Select the Bounding Box and Surface option to highlight the surface of the geometry associated with a node and display the bounding box that encompasses the volume of the node when hovering the cursor over it in the viewport. Which surface is highlighted depends on which node is under the cursor. For instance, hovering the cursor over the nodes of a figure in the viewport highlights the surface of the geometry associated with that node. If nothing in the scene is selected, the surface of the geometry for the entire figure is highlighted instead, depending on the active Viewport Tool and the options in the Tool Settings pane. Bounding Boxes

When one figure is fit to another figure (i.e., clothing, hair, etc.), and the cursor is hovered over a node of the fitted figure that corresponds with a node of the underlying figure—like the sleeve of a shirt and the arm underneath it—the highlight displayed is that of both the figure's arm and the arm of the clothing but in different colors.

Bounding Box Only

Select the Bounding Box Only option to display only the bounding box that encompasses the volume of a node in the viewport, without highlighting the surface. If a node in the scene is selected, and that node is associated with geometry, the bounding box displayed encompasses the associated geometry and is oriented according to the orientation of the node. If nothing in the scene is selected, no bounding boxes appear until the cursor hovers over a node.

When one figure is fit to another figure (i.e., clothing, hair, etc.), and the cursor is hovered over a node of the fitted figure that corresponds with a node of the underlying figure—like the sleeve of a shirt and the arm underneath it—the bounding box displayed is that of both the figure's arm and the arm of the clothing but in different colors. Active/Inactive

Active Opacity

The Active Opacity property controls the opacity of bounding boxes for the selected node(s). The higher the percentage (value), the more opaque the bounding boxes are. For example, a 15% setting displays nearly translucent boxes, while a 85% setting displays nearly completely opaque boxes.

Inactive Opacity

The Inactive Opacity property controls the opacity of bounding boxes when nodes are hovered-over. The higher the percentage (value), the more opaque the bounding boxes are. For example, a lower percentage displays almost translucent boxes, while a high percentage displays almost completely opaque boxes.
