Makuno-uchi means an Intermission. This dates back to the Edo Period (1603 to 1867), when they were served during the intermissions of Noh and Kabuki theater performances. So kind of lap top_bento ! Every Food props are separated on purpose for you can get it with chopsticks!

My Bento includes Sashimis, tempura of the Shrimp, grilled fish, Tofu and boiled vegetables with small rice balls…and what's more!! Small rice balls are practical for “eaten by a mouthful” in an intermission! Please enjoy!!
