Additional Details

  • Absorption multiplier color is what is absorbed; it will look like the inverted color. If you wish Scattering and Absorption colors to look similar, the Hue in color picker should be offset by 180.
  • Darker absorption makes the volume look more like wisps or shadow, lighter makes it somewhat more solid looking.
  • Changing the emission colors of lights can produce dramatic differences. If the color looks too intense, try lowering saturation; other colors may become more obvious in the clouds.
  • Most of the presets have a top level cube that is not visible on render. This helps placement and getting a good feel for the space the effect will take up. To actually change volume parameters, open the main object to get at parented items.
