3 Raven Court has had the ultimate Iray Winter makeover! The 3 Raven Court Iray Winter Expansion is a classic fairytale witch's cottage, an oldy but a goody (or baddy if your witch happens to be wicked!)
This great add-on brings it right up to date and gives it an additional roof texture (something it's been needing for a while). Along with the digital renovations, it also covers it in glittering snow and icicles and populates its grounds with winter plants and trees to create a fantastic revamp for this lovely little house!
And I have made sure to keep a balance between the original product's fairytale character and a more realistic texturing set with trees and snow props that are redolent of a storybook feel (or sugar frosting).
Original texture maps have been enhanced with normal, specular, and displacement mapping where needed to really bring this cottage to life! All of the material presets are in the bundle and can be applied to the individual elements of the cottage, or you can simply upload one of the pre-made scene subsets (a good choice of including some, all, or none of the plants) and instantly load a winter wonderland surrounding this quaint old building! Not only that, but you get 8 winter plants and trees, 5 shader presets to change the snow and ice on the models, and high poly snow and ice models to cover the building, fence, and ground with a layer of snow and icicles! Additional advice: As always with the plants, a little goes a long way, and variations in the X rotation and scale can make one plant and its instances look like many different ones!
The snow and ice props have been parented to the !WH Fullpreload in the original product (which shows in the scene tab as WH Gate), and this should be selected so that they parent correctly. I have included an updated preload in this set that will load everything in a few seconds! The snow and ice are built to cover the whole building rather than the individual sections.
You can change the material presets on the snow objects — the puffy snow is puffier, has more detail, and is great for closer shots. Remember to select the object you wish to apply the shader to in the scene tab AND in the shaders tab. You can use these shaders on all of the snow and ice objects included, as well as the snow portions of the snow trees and other objects you wish to turn to ice or snow in the scene to blend. You can use your own collection of snow and ice shaders to blend with other elements too!
The trees and plants work well with instancing.
The snow props are high density mesh, and with surfaces like snow, this really helps with allowing shaders to add the required detail to make the surface look realistic. It does mean that the loading time can take a little longer than lower density models.
Add some frosty magic to a classic Platinum Club prop! This lovely add-on is a great way to revamp a beloved old set and make it picture perfect in a matter of one or two clicks for that Christmas card, winter fright night, or any other situation where you need a fairytale winter cottage resplendent in a glittering winter coat!
