Product Information

  • Required Products: None

The Thickener Plug-In for Daz Studio converts open-mesh objects (e.g. clothing) into closed-mesh ones, adding a thickness.

3Delight and Iray Volumetric shaders work correctly in thickened objects. Also, thickened objects can interact with plugins as FLUIDOS, FLUDOS II, PARSIS, and Gescon.

The Thickener Plug-In can create static thickened objects or dynamic ones. The latter can react not only to its own parameter but also to the mesh changes in the original object. This way, you can use dForce in the original object, and the dynamic thickened object will smoothly follow the deformations.

You can assign different materials to each side of a thickened object. Moreover, the border can share the material or have its own one. The border, also, can be smooth or sharp.

The Thickener Plug-In is Windows 64 bits and macOS 64 bits compatible.

Resolved Issues

  • 2021-08-26
    • Bug Fixes:
      • The UV map stretching was causing artifacts in the border of the Dynamic thickend object when using negative values in the thickness property.
      • If the original object was invisible, the Dynamic thickend object copied the base mesh of the original object, although the high resolution was selected.
      • When using Iray preview rendering, if the subdivision border of the Dynamic thickend object was changed two times, the preview looks pixeled (unless the Manipulation resolution in the Draw settings pane was normal) and the problem persist even if the Dynamic thickend object is deleted.
    • Changes:
      • Now, there is a property that hides Progress Dialog when the Dynamic thickend object is updating.
      • The Progress Dialog appears only if the plugin is updating larger polycount objects.
  • Version 1.1:
    • The UV map in the border was not proportional to the size of the facets from the extremes to the center whenever the Stretch UV map was used.
    • The UV map stretching was not working on some sides of the subdivided border.
    • The Dynamic thickened object was updating whenever there was a change in an independent object in the scene (e.g. Applying a shader to an object).
    • See page 17 of the manual.
