Product Information

  • Required Products: None

HD Face Staples and Stitches for Genesis 8 Males is a collection of 38 HD face wounds in the process of healing. The set includes 38 additional LIE textures to give the hurt flesh a more subtle look, bringing the total to 19 Staples HD Morphs, 19 Stitches HD Morphs, 19 Staples Attachments, 19 Stitches Attachments, & 76 Iray LIE Presets. These wounds were sculpted taking our HD FACE WOUNDS for Genesis 8 Male(s) pack as a reference to help tie both products in with your storytelling. As some of the promos show, you can also play with the intensity of the morphs via the dials and use the Subtle LIE Iray Presets to turn the closed wounds into scars! Break the limits and dial them negatively for even greater variation! Like with our other packs, these can be combined to help add valuable subtext to your images, allowing you to build characters marked by hardships and pain. Who must wear these badges life has bestowed upon them - whether they will wear them with pride, shame, or pain - is up to you!

Additional Details

This is NOT a merchant resource. This product should be used in accordance to DAZ Studio’s EULA. This means you cannot resell these textures or use them on a character you will give away for free or sell. The textures should not be used to create photoshop wound brushes either. The morphs can’t be baked into a character you will be selling or giving away. — The following information details the folder structure for “HD FACE STAPLES AND STITCHES for Genesis 8 Male(s)” and should serve as an overview of the product:

HD MORPHS:

“People/Genesis 8 Male/Shapes/FenixPhoenix/Face Staples and Stitches” • You can use the Shaping Presets to add the HD Wounds or you can dial them in. You will find the dials in the parameters or shaping tab under Actors > Head > Face > Staples and Stitches • You can also type “FSSM” in the search box within the parameter tab to easily access all the dials at once. • Several Shaping Preset to remove/zero only the morphs in this pack have been included for your convenience.

LIE MATERIAL PRESETS:

You will find four folders in your “Content Library” under the following paths: “People/Genesis 8 Male/Materials/FenixPhoenix/ Face Staples and Stitches” • 01 Set Quality | You will find three scripts for setting your figure’s Render SubDivision Level. With your character selected, click on any of them to determine the quality. The higher the SubD Level, the better the HD Morph will look at the expense of longer render times. • Important: The recommended Render SubDivision Level is 3-4; the recommended viewport SubDivision Level is 2-3. The script assumes the figure is loaded at viewport subdivision of 2, so manually check the figure’s resolution in the parameters tab before rendering. • 02 Add LIE Textures| LIE Iray Presets are included to add texture to the skin. They may take a while to apply depending on your specs. These will only work on Generation 8 characters that use Base UVs. These should also work on Generation 3 Characters so long as they use the Generation 3 Base UVs. A special folder called “Subtle” has been included which will apply a softer texture for a faded/scar type of look. You can stack presets (apply them twice) to add more intensity to the texture. • 03 Removers | Here you will find a handy script to remove all LIE layers from your characters. Just select your character, ensure no surface is selected, and apply. Keep in mind that the script will strip every LIE layer on your entire character. If you find you are getting neck seams, we also included a material preset to remove the maps from the “Glossy Layered Weight” channel. Some PAs do not include spec maps on their characters, so using this preset should remove the map made by LIE from there which should remove any seams.

ATTACHMENTS:

“People/Genesis 8 Male/Props/FenixPhoenix/Face Staples and Stitches” • Remember to select your character before applying these attachments. • Additional Material Presets have been included in the form of Iray Shaders. Please ensure the surface of the props are selected before applying any of these, as they may not take effect otherwise. To open your surface panels, go to windows > Pane > Surfaces.

TIPS & TRICKS:

The staples attachments might end up digging into the skin of stylized characters, especially when it comes to chins and noses. A quick fix for those is to: 1. Select the attachment that is causing the issue. 2. Go to Create > New Geometry Shell… 3. In the pop-out chose the option: “Parent to Selected Item”. Name the shell whatever you like, then click accept. 4. Now select your newly created shell which should be nested under your attachment. In the parameters tab (Window > Panes > Parameters) try giving the geoshell an “Offset Value” of somewhere between 0.020 to 0.070. The bigger the value, the more “bloated” the stapes will look, so you want to try keeping it as low as possible. 5. You can also try to reduce the offset by adjusting the scale of the geoshell (X Scale 101% & Z Scale 100.2%, for example). You want to keep the values as low as possible, so the staples do not separate too much from the skin.
