This tutorial series is part of the Real-Time Filmmaking course, giving you the tools you need to tell cinematic stories in the Unreal Game Engine. Once you understand this workflow you can create beautiful scenes with your own Daz characters and render animated movies in real time.

Welcome to your first step into the world of real-time filmmaking! This first step can be a little daunting, the complex Unreal Engine presents you with an overwhelming array of features and functions. Where do you even start?

In this introduction to real-time filmmaking I give an overview of the main tool we’ll be using, the Unreal Engine 4.18. We start with the absolute basics, from downloading the engine and creating a new project, to navigating through the complex Unreal interface. I show you how to import and export custom content, as well as migrate content from one project to another. Along the way I let you know some of the tips and tricks I’ve found valuable in the 4+ years I’ve been teaching the Unreal Engine.

This series is the foundation for further tutorials in the Real-Time Filmmaking course.
