Additional Details

  • dForce is awesome but a bit finicky, this dress works very well out of the box but the standard restrictions on dForce clothing still apply: Avoid poses where the figure's skin intersects itself, most commonly with this dress that's the underarm area, and even more common with the muscular character shapes. There is a bit more leeway with this as it has lower armholes but still be careful with it.
  • If you have hands on hips give them about a centimeter (1/2 inch) clearance before you run the simulation, you can move them back in closer after it's calculated. Most knee bends are okay as the bottom tends to clear them in the simulation. If you run into explosions watch the simulation as it's calculating to see where the issue is, in some poses hands will travel through the body to get to their final destination and cause it to go haywire. You can change “Start Bones From Memorized Pose” to Off in the simulation settings to fix it for most standing poses.
  • If you're using a non standing pose it's best to switch to the timeline so you can guide the limbs gracefully into their final position. Also remember that if you have your character on the floor you will need to make a plane primitive (or other such object) for the dress to collide with or it will hang down. Make sure your figure's skin isn't intersecting that floor object, like the hands it's best to give it about a centimeter of clearance to avoid explosions.
  • The 3Delight materials use ray-traced reflections, it's very important that you have an environment (preferably 360 degree) for it to reflect or the metals and sparkly fabrics will look way too dark. This is not a concern with Iray but it looks best with higher contrast HDRIs for maximum bling.
