Introducing Andromeda

Andromeda was born and raised in the North African Kingdom of Aethiopia and is the daughter of the Aethiopian king Cepheus and his wife Queen Cassiopeia. It was Cassiopeia's hubris that leads her to boast that Andromeda is more beautiful than the nymph daughters of the sea god Nereus. Poseidon as punishment sends the sea monster Cetus to destroy Aethiopia. Poor Andromeda would be stripped and chained to a rock as a sacrifice to the gods, but beautiful Andromeda is saved from her fate by the legendary hero Perseus.
