Handspan Studios Fabric Shaders 2, Sensation is a collection of 236 Shader Presets and the tiling texture maps they are based on. Everything tactile in wearable fabric, of use to encourage the viewer to think about your artwork in terms of the sense of touch. From velvety suede and floaty sheers to slick silks and delicate laces- hundreds of easy to use presets are at your fingertips. It also includes more basic everyday fabrics like denim, knit and wool. These rougher textures can contrast nicely with the more shiny fabrics when used in combination, making both surfaces more eye-catching. The sophisticated color palettes are loosely based on three fashion (Pantone) forecasts. The lighter weight fabrics are using the spring color forecast and women's fashion spring colors and the heavier fabrics are using the fall color palette. Fashion designers right now are focusing on sheers and lace so we included lots of those, please see the file list for a more detailed description.
There are 236 shader presets consisting of 86 unique tiling texture patterns plus the preset color variations based on those patterns. Most fabrics have between three and five color presets, laces are one color per pattern but easily can be adjusted to any color you like. With most of the fabrics many more color variations are possible by the end user customizing the diffuse and/or refection parameters. The basis for these shaders are 184 actual texture, bump, transparency and specular maps and the various material settings customized for DAZ Studio. As an added bonus it also includes 3 simple, easy to render Light presets that I have used in the promo images.
You'll find these tiling textures are easy on your system resources and disk space too. Since the tiling texture files the presets are based on have mostly been made in grey scale and the color is added via the parameter settings, you can adjust or create new color palettes as trends change or for use in your own texture making.
All textures are seamlessly tiling and by repeating can fill an area of any size. The tiling texture file sizes range from approximately 50 pixels for the smallest tile to 1500 as the largest with an average size of about 600 pixels per image map and a total size for the image folder of 55 MB. The variation in size is because the natural repeat in a fabric is very different from one to another. I have tried for a balance between looking natural and seamless in tiling, high enough resolution to show quality details and reasonable in size for your rendering speed.
