Product Information

This is Mazedness! A huge elevated maze built of narrow crumbling pathways atop high walls and surrounded by pits of lava. There is only one solution and it leads through the center of the maze.

This very rustic prop set Includes a 105 x 175 meter maze, 2 floating platforms, a wall that can be instanced/duplicated to customize the maze, a lighted/lamp post made from an old tree trunk, murky water, and molten lava.

Multiple props make this set customizable and provide the freedom to load Mazedness objects into scenes that don’t have the main maze. The elevated pathway, platforms and lamp post of Mazedness load at ground level allowing for quick composition and figure posing.

Close or wide camera angles: high quality texture maps for all the props and modeled stone/wood for the smaller props allow for detailed renders while the care taken with tiling the textures allows for distant renders. Some of the promo images show the maze duplicated (instanced) four or more times.

The lamp post and lava include multiple types of lights which shorten your set up time towards bringing a cohesive realism to the scene. See modified surface names/channels to adjust quality of UberArea lights. The lava includes a super-heated gaseous layer made of UberVolume. The lava and water plane are also 105 x 175 meters!

This set also Includes seamless tiled shaders for ancient stone, thick moss, and icy sleet. Geometry shells can be used to apply multiple shaders (such as the stone and moss) to the same object. With the included sleet shader you can turn all of the moss into frozen snow and the water into a sheet of ice, don’t slip!

A small maze preset using several of the hi-rez wall props and lamp posts (instanced) is included. This scene is recommended for more powerful computers, you can also delete what is not needed.

Additional Details

  • When working with many props in one scene switch working view to Smooth Shaded to reduce CPU usage.
  • Use a Geometry Shell to assign more than one shader to an object or figure.
  • Use Instancing to reduce CPU usage and work with multiple HiRez objects in one scene.
  • To turn Lava UberVolume off reduce density to 0. Depending on how complicated your scene is and how much lava is in your scene you may experience longer render times using both UberVolume and UberEnvironment Lighting (UE2).
  • More information on UberVolume can be found here:Uber Volume
  • Some props use Area Light Planes. The quality (how smooth or grainy) is controlled by the Samples channel. A setting of 200 or so will give you smooth light and will increase render times.
