Product Information

  • Required Products: None

Skin Masters For Keiko 6 is the ultimate toolbox to render and customize Keiko 6 like never before, for efficient and flexible renders with endless possibilities.

Skin Masters For Keiko 6 is an evolution of Amazing Skins, in which two layers acting like layers of Tattoo and body paints have been included directly inside the materials, avoiding the long LIE load time. And even more: you can, independently for each layer change the Hue, the Saturation, the Value, and the Opacity of the Tattoo image, and this, directly from the surface tab!

Skin Masters relies on the default Keiko 6 maps, and provides a huge amount of presets for skins tones, special skins, eyes, lacrimals, eyelashes, gloss, bump and make-up.

  • Master your skin tones by creating or loading realistic tones variations and even reach incredible Sci-Fi skins!
  • Master your skins properties by adjusting gloss and SSS colors and repartitions in the blink of an eye!
  • Master your development and render steps by rendering faster and without the initial freeze!
  • Master your Tattoo layers by defining which and how Tattoo patterns apply on the different layers and adjust their color and opacity!

Skin Masters come with 15 Tattoos or body paints patterns. Each Tattoo pattern can be loaded in 5 different ways:

  • 1. Directly on Tattoo Layer 1 with different color and opacity presets.
  • 2. As Layered image (LIE) on Tattoo Layer 1.
  • 3. Directly on Tattoo Layer 2 with different color and opacity presets.
  • 4. As Layered image (LIE) on Tattoo Layer 2.
  • 5. As Layered image (LIE) on the diffuse layer.

Each Tattoo pattern is already provided with various color and opacity presets on Layer 1 and on Layer 2. But they are very easy to customize. Just hit “Tattoo 1” or “Tattoo 2” in the surfaces tab filter text box, and all and only the Tattoo map color and opacity dials will be displayed.

The little plus : if you own other commercial Keiko 6 skins textures sets, you can use the Tattoos Layers on them and keep your initial texture set, and not only it will work, but also they will benefit the Amazing Skins material type. You can then use the base skins presets on any Keiko 6 texture set (see ReadMe for procedure). This will add even more potential for your renders.

Now you are ready to become a Skin Master for Keiko 6 and create unique and astonishing renders!

Additional Details

  • Product Notes:
  • How does it work?
  • 1. Loading base skins:
    • The first step for you will be to chose one of the Skins presets close to the skin tone or color you want.
    • For this you have 16 base presets, 16 additional presets, variations of the 16 first presets with more SSS and specular presenting different and interesting results, and of course “special” skins, for fantasy and Sci-Fi renders. You can keep them the way they are, or tune them manually, as you were used to do it for Amazing Skins.
    • If you have never customized manually any Amazing Skins, you can refer to the pdf documentation 21075_skin-masters-for-keiko-6.pdf
    • Skin Master Skins will work the same, they just include more features above the skins, which are the Layer 1 and Layer 2 Tattoos Layers.
  • 2. Adding Tattoos:
    • If you want to add tattoos, you can load them on layer 1, or on layer 2, knowing that layer 2 appearing above layer 1 when rendering. You can even load them directly on the diffuse layer using their LIE presets, but in this case, their color will be influenced by the skin color presets you use.
    • If you want to use several patterns on layer 1, or on layer 2, you can use the LIE on layer 1 and on layer 2 versions of the tattoos. Please note that all the tattoos of a same layer will present the same color variations (not the same colors but the same variations of initial colors), and the same opacity value.
    • You can eventually overlay Tattoos directly on the Diffuse Map, but then the tattoo colors correction depend on the general skin color correction. The initial colors of the tattoos are dedicated to optimize their behavior in the tattoo layer, and not on the diffuse layer directly.
  • 3. Rendering:
    • If you don't need tattoo layers, you can render them this way adding your own light set, or pick up amongst one of the lights sets included in the products.
  • 4. What you should know:
    • Skins Presets and Layer 1 and Layer 2 Tattoos Presets are independent. This means that you can change the colors and opacity independently.
    • Yet you need first to load a skin preset, once only, before applying the Tattoos in order to ensure whole the materials will present the same shader.
    • You are not supposed to change the Tattoo Image Strength. Yet, decreasing this strength acts as a multiplication of the pattern colors with some black.
    • Before changing a tattoo pattern on one layer, it is important to reset this layer using the reset layer file included for layer 1 and layer 2. If you do not do so, you might find some parts of the previous tattoo not erased by the new tattoo.
    • The tool allowing to add borders to the should butterfly pattern cannot work on the white butterfly preset, due to the way this preset is built.
    • By default, the skins bases use the Keiko 6 default maps, provided with Keiko 6. Yet both the tattoos and the skins presets can be applied on ANY texture set for Keiko 6 that you own :
    • Load your favorite commercial material for Keiko 6, and select your figure.
    • Choose a skin preset amongst the Main folder or folder 00 and 01.
    • Use “CRTL+ double click” this preset, a window will pop up, and in the image maps option, you will open the menu to select : Images : “ignore”. This way, the skin characteristics will be applied, but the image maps you loaded will be preserved.
    • At this step, your figure would render very white, so to finish the process of applying a preset to a another texture set, browse to 06Layer1Tattoos and double click : !ResetLayer1.duf and then browse to 06Layer2Tattoos and double click !ResetLayer2.duf. And this is done!
    • Please note that the results will depend on your textures characteristics. The more similar (in term of Hue, Saturation, Value and Specular Maps) they are to initial Keiko textures, the more the final results will be similar too.
    • Please note that this cannot work with the 4 presets of the last folder called “ExampleFullPresets”, since the maps need to be applied for those.
  • Please Note:
    • The empty layers of tattoo come with a map (an empty .png) called “ZeroAlphaMap.png”. Never remove those maps! They are essential for the shader behavior.
    • If you want to remove a tattoo that you have added either reset the full tattoo layer, or replace the image map by the ZeroAlphaMap, with a map strength at 1. In no cases the Image Map of the Tattoo layer should be left empty!
