Classic Crochet includes thirty stylish shaders with the look of real crochet. It also includes three different presets to control the strength of the effect, and twenty tiling presets to make sure the pattern size will fit any outfit perfectly. The shaders come in classic white, but can easily be made any color by simply changing the diffuse color or diffuse image map. Additional Details

  • Thank you for purchasing this fun shader set! Be sure to watch for all the other shaders in the Fun With Yarn series.
  • It is easy to alter the color of your yarn by simply changing the diffuse setting in the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane. In fact, you can change the diffuse image map and any of the other settings. Only the transparency, bump, and displacement channels are truly critical in creating the textured crochet look.
  • You can even apply a different shader to your crochet to make it look any way you want. To do this, apply the desired crochet shader first. Next, choose the shader you want and apply it using “CTRL + CLICK”. When the dialog box pops up, choose to “Ignore Images” and apply it. This will preserve the proper images in the transparency, bump, and displacement channels, but it will destroy the proper settings for your crochet texture. To make it easy to restore the proper settings, I have included a utility shader preset: “!Restore Displacement and Bump Settings”. Apply the restore preset and then choose the effect strength you desire using one of the three strength presets.
  • It is also possible to create a lace overlay on top of any material zone in any object or clothing. Simply copy the object using Edit>Duplicate>Duplicate Node Hierarchies. Select any material zones you don’t want to be part of the lace overlay and set the opacity strength to 0% in the Editor tab of the Surfaces pane. Then select the surfaces you want to be part of the lace overlay and apply the crochet shader of your choice. Remember to set the tiling to the appropriate size, as well, using one of the included tiling presets. Because of the displacement in the crochet shaders, the crochet texture should automatically appear on top of the surfaces that are underneath.
  • Have fun and experiment! You can create thousands of looks with a minimal effort. No crochet hook required!
