Additional Details

  • For ease of use the each group of lights is parented to a null. If your poses is off 0/0 or not standing you may want to parent the null to the head of the character before posing or moving it. You may then want to look through spotlight 1 to see if the angle for the lighting is right for your scene. If you want to adjust it then select the null in the scene tab and then make adjustments via the parameters tab to the null. This way all the lights, including the Uberlight, will rotate together.
  • These lights have a point light located about eye level for the character. This light helps compensate for the colors and brightens the face.
  • Some of these light sets have strong shadows to add more drama. If you need softer shadows for your scene simply decrease the shadow intensity on the lights by selecting the light tab, then the light and then shadow. I have also used occlusion with directional shadows on the uberlighting. For softer shadows you can change the uberlight shadows to occlusion with soft shadows. That will also speed up your render time nominaly.
