Below is a list of the installation package types provided by this product. The name of each package contains a Package Qualifier, which is used as a key to indicate something about the contents of that package.

Not all installation packages provide files that are displayed to the user within the interface of an application. The packages listed below, do. The application(s), and the location(s) within each application, are shown below.

• Additional Movie Maker DAZ Studio 4.6 Functions
  • There are two additional Movie Maker functions in the DS 4.6 version:
    • Foreground Alpha Masks
    • Fog
  • Both functions are fully automatic and are enabled when a background package uses either of the functions.
• Foregreound Alpha Maks
  • This function enables Movie Maker to put parts of the pre-rendered images in front of the characters / props in your scene, making it appear as they are actually in front of them.
• Fog
  • This function adds special distant fog to the characters in your scene and matches that with the background. Note that this function is not the same as the built in DAZ Studio camera fog, and instead works with items individually, based on the fog color, depth, reach and makes sure that added fog matches the fog level. Fog is never added to the background it self.

• How to make DS 3 Movie Maker Background Packs to work with DS 4.6 Movie Maker
  • 1. You do not need to reinstall or move the background packs. Movie Maker DS 4.6 will read them both from the DS 3 folders and DS 4 folders automatically
  • 2. You do need to however, move the resource files from your DAZ Studio 3 installation to the DAZ Studio 4 installation
    • Simply go to your main DAZ Studio 3 installation.
    • On a 32 bit PC, typically:
      • Go to:
        • C:/Program (x86) / DAZ 3D / DAZStudio3 / resources / Dreamlight / MovieMaker /
      • Copy all files within and paste them to:
        • C:/Program (x86) / DAZ 3D / DAZStudio4 / resources / Dreamlight / MovieMaker /
      • Note: Might also be just / Program / instead of / Program (x86) /.
    • On a 64 bit PC, typically:
      • Go to:
        • C:/Program / DAZ 3D / DAZStudio3 / resources / Dreamlight / MovieMaker /
      • Copy all files within and paste them to:
        • C:/Program / DAZ 3D / DAZStudio4 / resources / Dreamlight / MovieMaker /
  • 3. On a MAC, please refer to your DAZ Studio 3 installation and locate the corresponding resource files and move the files over to your DAZ Studio 4 installation.
