Are you a dedicated fan of the original Genesis figure? Do you have a huge library of morphs, characters, and shapes that you are still passionate about using, yet really want to use that beautiful new texture that was made for Genesis 2 Base Female or Genesis 2 Base Male? Well, now you can.

Genesis 2 Male and Female UVs for Genesis will allow you to use any textures made with the Genesis 2 Base Female or Genesis 2 Base Male UVs, bringing your favorite Genesis characters to new life without the need to perform Map Transfers or morph conversions to Genesis 2.

Genesis 2 skins have differently named material zones than Genesis, so it is necessary to convert Genesis 2 presets to load onto Genesis. DraagonStorm has created a version of her AutoSkins Converter to work with this product, allowing you to convert Genesis 2 presets to Genesis presets and even save them to your DAZ Studio library.

Genesis 2 Male and Female UVs for Genesis has been tested in DAZ Studio as well as Poser. Poser users will need to convert their new presets to PoserCF (Poser companion files) so that they can be read in Poser via the DSON Importer.

Additional Details

  • Genesis 2 has differently named material zones than Genesis, so the presets that are included with your favorite Genesis 2 Female and Genesis 2 Male textures will not apply directly to Genesis, even with the remapped uvs in your data folder. The included Material Converter (G2 to Genesis Materials.dse) will convert the material files to be usable on Genesis and will apply the appropriate UVs at the same time. UV Presets have been included just in case you inadvertently change the uvs on Genesis and need to revert to Genesis 2 Female or Genesis 2 Male UVs.
  • The Converter will create a new preset for use on Genesis and will save it to a folder of your choosing. I recommend creating a separate folder in your DAZ library to store the new presets. To use the Converter, simple click the thumbnail to initiate the script. You will be presented with a dialog box. First, you will enter a destination folder for the new preset. Next, you will navigate to the folder that contains the preset you want to convert. After, you will have an opportunity to rename the preset. This is to avoid presets with the same name (ie. 00 Default Skin). Finally, click “Convert” and your preset will be created in the folder you chose in step one.
  • Navigate to the preset in your content library, and with Genesis selected, click the thumbnail to apply the texture to Genesis.
