Project Dogwaffle is affordable paint software for the PC with built-in, user-defined, animated & fractal particle brushes. A companion to your 2D+3D web authoring or animation tools, or as your first step into virtual art and matte painting with mouse or tablet, it is here for you to paint, sketch, animate and paint… almost like on the real thing, but without the funny fumes, the mess or occasional spills! Draw Anime, enjoy nature painting, edit photos & digital images, add special FX to CG animations and your home movies, do professional post work, and create fantasy art. For developers and VB programmers there's also a free SDK to extend Dogwaffle with more filters and plugins, including LUA scripting to experiment with new filters.

PD Pro comes in two distinct versions. The Artist edition is also available here at DAZ, and priced lower, but does not support animations or working on video (with the exception of loading a video into the brush and using it to paint with an animated brush, on a still image). This is the Howler edition, the full-featured edition that includes full traditional animation, light table, exposure sheet, frame painter, motion prediction, image stabilization, tracking matte and a large set of filters that can be applied across animations, such as Snowfall, animated Skies and Lens flares, displacement, even the 3D Designer filter can act on animated elevation maps! PD Pro Howler edition is not just for painting. It goes beyond digital painting, by crossing the lines into 3D and animation and working with video. You can paint with video over video, too!

• This is version 8.2d. This release should no longer need to run as Administrator. The installer will normally evelate itself to install the program to Administrator for installation, in order to have permission to register things and create needed working Temp subdirectories etc… After installation, however, you should no longer need to run the installed program as Admninistrator. Please feel free to contact us and let us know if you encounter problems.

• IMPORTANT:
  • Please uninstall prior versions, especially demo trial or full earlier version 8.x (8.0, 8.1), if you have them already on the same PC, and remove the folder that may be left from those older installations. Do not install this new v8.2d over an existing folder of 8.0 or 8.1, as it probably won't work, since there were changes in some of the folder structure and media formats. If you want to keep the older version, that may be okay too but be sure to install this new version in its own folder.
  • As usual, we also recommend that your computer have the latest version of Microsoft .Net Framework 4. Look in our Help or FAQ pages on our website at thebest3d.com for further help if you have any other installation problems. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have questions. After installation of this version, you can also look for an option in the Help menu that will check and report what your installed .Net Framework is. If you're running Windows 8 you should already have .Net framework 4.
• And finally, last but not least: we thoroughly check our products to make sure they contain no malware, no spyware, no viruses. Please do your additional part and scan the installer with your updated antivirus program too, and let us know if you find anything suspicious. Most likely it's a false alarm, a false positive. (We've seen some in recent months, all later confirmed as false alerts by the antivirus developers, i.e. not a security threat after all, but we want you and your computer to be safe. So let us know if you have any questions or need suggestions for additional protection.)
