Horse racing is a sport that has a long history, dating as far back as ancient Babylon, Syria, and Egypt. In the first Greek Olympics, chariot racing and mounted horse racing were events. In the ancient Rome, both chariot and mounted horse racing were major industries. As Thoroughbred racing developed as a sport, it became popular with the aristocrats and royalty and achieved the title “Sport of Kings.” Today's Horse racing is enjoyed throughout the world using several breeds of horses including Thoroughbreds, Quarter Horses, Arabians, Paints, and Appaloosas.
Pixel Downs is a modern racetrack is a perfect place to race your DAZ Horse 2, Millennium Horse or Songbird ReMix Ostrich in DAZ Studio 4.5 and Poser 6+ (DAZ Horse2 requires Poser 9+). The 1:2 scaled version of the mile-long race is big enough to convey the long distance and expanse of the real thing with still being able to get many of the features into a rendered image or animation. And features it has… from Eighth and Quarter poles to the finish line with photo finish cameras to the fully functioning Toteboard in which you can chose the winners, their odds, the track conditions even when you want to launch an inquiry into bumping along the rail. And if that inquiry proves true, Pixel Downs gives you losing tickets to toss and litter the plaza with.
The dirt track is convertible to turf and races are available from 5 Furlongs to 1 ¼ Mile lengths. There are also sectional pieces of the track included to help limited your render resources. Both the Full Track and sectional Pieces have a slightly elevated track floor between the rails so it is also possible to place the track on a flat landscape of your choosing rather than the one provided. Pixel Downs is the perfect place to bring your Horse, Ostrich or other animal across the finish line.
