Omni Hair Shader Construction Kit and Merchant Resource
Features 285 Complete color presets and more than 600 Partial presets so you can tweak existing looks or build your own from scratch.
I started by choosing 18 of my favorite hues from around the color wheel, plus pure grey for a 19th hue. The set features 3 levels of saturation and 3 levels of lightness to create 6 color options for each hue. Partial presets include Color and Dye Roots and Tips in each hue, as well as 10 melanin-strength presets.
A variety of weight maps allow you to create a “streaked” or “frosted” look, with variagated melanin and dye effects.
The set includes a wide range of complete color presets so if you don't feel like building your color mix from scratch, you don't have to. You can use the complete presets as-is, or change them up by using the partial presets, coupled with style and weighting option presets.
All of the icons are rendered with greyscale IBL light so choosing colors is accurate and simple. Organized thumbnails make it easy for smart content users to see whether you're looking at a partial or complete color preset.
This set is also a Merchant Resource. The restriction is that your versions of these presets need to be in Material or Hierarchical Material format for a specific hair figure as part of a commercial product. You may not offer the presets in this set in shader format or include them in a “freebie.” You may also include or modify the maps in this product, as long as your product is referencing them in Material or Hierarchical Material presets. There is no restriction on the number of Material presets you can create in your product.
Please see the video below for a complete walkthrough of all the parts of the set.
