Post production on a 3D render. This tutorial will show you how to paint a feather boa in Photoshop 7.
I open my render. This render was done in poser 4 propack
The render is 1693 by 1519 300 dpi with a home made 3 point light. The pose is Olivia Poses by Webdancer at renderosity.com free stuff. The brush we will be using is the fuzzball brush in photoshop7 .
The first thing we will do is duplicate the image and make it a new layer. This layer we will take the magic wand and delete all the background color so we will only have the lady in the new layer .
Now that we have a layer with just the lady in it we will duplicate this layer. Now go to layer and make a new layer and name this layer. I have named mine B. I will now place this layer between the two lady layers. This is done so I may paint the boa behind her.
I take the freeform pen tool. Make sure you have a nice color and the fuzzball brush for when you right click and hit the stroke path and brush with the freeform pen tool. This will paint the boa behind her.
Now I will duplicate the boa layer and place it in front of the top lady layer. Take the burn tool with the fuzzball brush and burn to darken the middle of the boa, then use the dodge tool to Lighten the edges
Now I will clean up the boa copy layer so I can see the parts of her body and face that I like. I will once again use dodge and burn tool to highlight the boa. I have taken the eraser tool to clean up some of the boa and the fuzzball brush to repaint
Now to clean up the boa some more and add some feel to it.
Using the fuzzball brush, I repainted some of the edges I had to delete around the boa.
I now duplicate the lady layer and set the copy to overlay to get a soft red glow to the lady. I used the filter blur and Gaussian blur to soften up the hard edges of the render.
7. I now merge visible and sign my name and the image is done. I hope you enjoy this and have a good day.
