This is a step-by-step guide with screen shots that shows you how to install both ExP base figures (V4.2 and Michael 4) into DAZ Studio on the PC.

Download the Base installer for the M4 or V4 figure. The installer must have the name shown below. If the name includes something else like 'DS,' then it is not the actual base installer, but just a support file. Make sure you have exact file shown below for the product you are using. Only the file below will install the figure base.

Launch the installer by double-clicking it. Click 'Next.'

The next screen gives you the option of having an uninstaller. This is optional. If you are not sure, we recommend that you choose 'yes' for an uninstaller.

The license agreement is next.

Choose DAZ Studio as the target application, then 'next.' Image

Choose 'Specify' and then click 'next.'

Click the yellow folder icon for 'browse' and then select the 'Content' folder as shown in the screen shot below.

IMPORTANT UPDATE: If you are using DAZ Studio in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, we recommend that instead of the path shown below, you use this path:

C:\users\[your user account]\Documents\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio3\content

Now the installer can beginning writing the files to your computer. Click 'Next.'

Files are written. Sit back and wait for this step to comlete.

The installer tells you that the shortcut for the 'initialization' script has been placed on your desktop.

The installer reminds you where you installed the content.

The last portion is shown. The ExP figure must be initialized. This creates additional files for the figure. Without these files, the figure will not work properly in DAZ Studio or Poser. Leave the boxes checked for initialization and for the readme. It is also possible to run the initialization script manually, but usually this is not necessary.

The installation tells you that initialization is complete.

The readme opens. As with all DAZ 3D content products, we recommend that you always check the readme. It tells you where to find content in your content tab in DAZ Studio.

Your product is installed. If you have purchased a morph add-on, you can now install it.
